Abstract

«Post Intensive Care Syndrome» — PICS — describes the combination of limiting the daily life of the patient somatic, neurological and social-psychological consequences of staying in conditions of Intensive Care Unit (ICU). In different combinations, they affect the increase days in ICU and decrease in the quality of life of patients several years after returning to normal life. The most common and therefore studied among them: critical state polyneuropathy, dysphagia, dissomnia, cognitive-afferent dissonance. In conclusion, the authors call for the active introduction of methods of diagnosis, prevention and early rehabilitation of PIT syndrome, described in a special national guide «Rehabilitation in Intensive Care».
