Aims and Scope

The Annals of Critical Care is a quarterly peer-reviewed open access journal providing original research, review articles (including systematic reviews and meta-analyses), clinical trials, surveys, case reports, short communication, educational and legal issues articles. On exclusive basis, the Journal publishes national guidelines and critical updates (as online Supplements) of the national “Federation of Anaesthesiologists and Reanimatologists”.

The Journal caters the interests of clinicians and researchers in Russia and globally involved into  critical care issues.

The Journal publishes articles reflecting various aspects of intensive care in cardiology, neurology, obstetrics, pediatrics, as well as innovations in the shock treatment, insufficiency of different organs and systems of the body, respiratory and metabolic support, infusion and hemostasis corrective therapy and pain management.

The Journal emphasizes vigorous peer-review with most rapid turnaround time possible from submission to publication. It accepts papers in Russian and English that meet the journal’s publishing ethics and policies.

Abstracts for all papers are available both in Russian and English languages. Apart from essential bibliometric data (e.g. author affiliation or References) the journal provides legends for pictures and tables as well as disclaimers (e.g. conflict of interests or funding) in English for better international coverage and access. It is also indexed in the major bibliometric and archiving databases or better discovery and preservation of its articles both at abstract and full-text level.

The Annals of Critical Care is an official journal of the national Federation of Anaesthesiologists and Reanimatologists  (a member of the European Society of Anaesthesiology, the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine and the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists). Therefore, it is in the main aims of the journal to facilitates relevant research and education regarding patient care according to the world’s highest standards.
